California Missions Hike

Santa Barbara, CA
December 11-13, 2026

Join Jason Evert and meet other Catholic young adult singles during the Advent season for a time of prayer, fellowship, and adventure. This experience follows the footsteps of the early California missionaries on a pilgrimage from Santa Barbara to Ventura, California.

Our journey follows a section of El Camino Real—the Royal Road connecting California’s historic Spanish missions. Beginning at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, we’ll camp by the sea as we make our way south along the California coast, walking beaches, coastal paths, bluffs, and historic roads before finishing at Mission San Buenaventura in Ventura.

But this is more than a hike. It is a pilgrimage. We’ll celebrate daily Mass, have Eucharistic Adoration on the beach, and have opportunities for confession and prayer. Each night we’ll gather after dinner for talks by Jason Evert on Saint John Paul II’s book Love and Responsibility, followed by fellowship and discussion.

Come ready to hike, pray, learn, and grow in faith while meeting other Catholic young adults. Camp along the California coast and follow in the footsteps of the missionaries who came before us.
